Steve Brennan

Steve is our director having founded the SFS Programme in 2012.

Steve holds a BSc. in Sports Science as well as a UEFA B coaching licence and a Level One in goalkeeper coaching and FA Psychology awards. Steve has managed in the Northern Counties League and has also taken charge of Scarborough Athletic Reserves.

Denny Ingram

Denny is qualified as a Football Coach as well as Semi Professional soccer manager. He is working towards his UEFA B Licence.

He made 228 first-team appearances in the EFL with Hartlepool United and also represented Scarborough FC, Northwich Victoria, Forest Green Rovers, Halifax Town, Harrogate Town, Whitby Town, Scarborough Athletic and Tadcaster Albion.

Denny has spent time as manager at Pickering Town, having previously been a player/assistant-manager with Scarborough FC and Scarborough Athletic.

Ryan Blott

Ryan played for Scarborough FC in the National League North and then went on to become Scarborough Athletic’s all-time record goalscorer, hitting the back of the net over 250 times.

Ryan spent time as player/assistant manager with Pickering Town.

He is currently coach and club captain at Scarborough Athletic, working closely with manager Jonathan Greening.

Michael Coulson

Michael is a former professional soccer player, who is now captain at Scarborough Athletic.

He played a number of Football League games, including a spell at Barnsley, which saw him play in the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Michael has also played in the SPL against the likes of Celtic and Rangers for St Johnstone.

Michael is a now a coach and tutor within the scholarship.

Leah Ager

Leah is the head sports therapist at the Scarborough Football Scholarship and also sports therapist for Scarborough Athletic.

Leah has a BSc in Sports and Exercise Therapy including studying injury assessment, injury rehabilitation, sports trauma, manual therapy and pitch-side trauma qualification.
She is a member of the Society of Sports Therapists, with extra CPD within sudden cardiac arrest, First aid with defibrillator training.

She is also now apart of our tutor team teaching several units within the course.

Joshua Fergus

Josh has been a scholar for the past three years and he has now gone on to join the staff as an apprentice, which sees him helping out on the pitch and in the classroom.

He is now studying within our university program working towards a Sports Coaching degree.

He has previously trained with Scarborough Athletic and Pickering Town

Andy Phillips

Andy has a UEFA B Goalkeeper and Outfield qualification, a degree in Physical Education and PGCE teaching qualification.
He has been teaching for over 20 years and has run his own specialist goalkeeper schools for nine years.

Phoenix Sykes

Phoenix has been a scholar for 2 years, alongside playing for our women’s team. She has now progressed into joining the staff as a women’s coach alongside sorting out the fixtures and helping within the classroom.

Phoenix has progressed within football now playing for Middlesbrough women.
